Here’s where to find information on all local candidates for every Greater Victoria municipality

Greater Victoria is in for some political changes following the upcoming local general elections on Saturday, October 17th.

Some incumbent candidates will likely return to municipal halls throughout the region, while many newcomers will also be joining council tables across the capital region.

In an effort to help voters in Greater Victoria navigate the local elections, Victoria Buzz has compiled a list of all candidates running for mayor and council in each individual municipality.

In each article, voters can find information about each candidate’s background and their priorities, if the candidates have made this information available publicly.

With the provincial election being called just one week after the local elections, many municipal leaders have expressed concern that local elections will be overshadowed and voter turnout will be low.

It is important to do research on all candidates in both elections and to get out and vote by mail-in ballot, advanced polls or by casting a ballot on general voting day—October 17th for locals and October 24th for provincial.

For information on where to vote and what is needed, visit your local government’s website.
