Skerryvore at McPherson Playhouse
The best live act in Scotland is coming to town!
Catch Skerryvore, one of Scotland’s leading forces in the country’s music scene, at McPherson Playhouse!
With a mix of bagpipes, fiddles, accordions, and whistles, alongside guitar and vocals, driving bass, drums, and keys, the band represents a reinvention of Scottish traditional music.
The show is a part of CeltFest Vancouver Island.

Swan Lake at Royal Theatre
The Royal Theatre is hosting a production of Swan Lake!

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings at Cinecenta
Tolkienists, this one is for you!
Cinecenta will be playing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on Tuesday to introduce their Lord of the Rings series.
The cinema will be playing one of the films in the series every Tuesday from now until October 20th.

Tickets are $8 for UVSS students, $9 for seniors, $10 for UVic alumni, faculty and staff and a plus one or $11 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Dead Pioneers at Encore Victoria
Dead Pioneers bring a raw, unapologetic collision of punk energy, spoken word and powerful storytelling.
Fronted by Indigenous artist Gregg Deal (Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe), the band uses music as a platform to challenge narratives, confront history and amplify conversations around identity, resilience and resistance.
Born from Deal’s performance art project The Punk Pan-Indian Romantic Comedy, Dead Pioneers grew into a full-force punk band built on urgency, honesty and community.
With driving guitars, explosive live energy and lyrics that refuse to shy away from difficult conversations, their sound blends the spirit of punk with a First Peoples perspective.
Expect a set that is more than just music—it’s a visceral experience rooted in art, activism and the belief that punk has always been a place for voices that need to be heard.
