Last week, Oak Bay Police caught and fined two motorists who were excessively speeding on residential streets.
At around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 22nd, a patrol officer observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Beach Drive travelling at 110 km/h in a 40 km/h zone.
Police say the 29-year-old man was issued a ticket for excessive speeding, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
In the second excessive speeding incident of the week, at around 7:55 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd, police conducted a traffic stop with a motorcycle on Beach Drive.
They stopped the vehicle after it was observed to be travelling at a speed of 103 km/h, in a 40 km/h zone.
For this incident, the 26-year-old man driving was also issued a ticket for excessive speed and his motorcycle was impounded for seven days.
