Congrats on getting through another week—if you’re lucky enough to have a couple of days off (or need to unwind after a weekend shift), we’ve got you covered.

There are plenty of dance opportunities if you’re hoping to let loose, as well as some calmer evening activities too.

Low-key events include a folk night, grabbing a beverage at End Dive and Community Days at the BC Royal Museum.

DJ & Dance Party at Friends of Dorothy

Head downtown for a night out at Friends of Dorothy!

Not only do they have a marvelous selection of cocktails and mocktails, they’re also well known for their variety of entertainment offered throughout the week.

This Friday, DJ Bill will be orchestrating the vibes, and there’s no cover—enjoy a cost-free dance party with pals.

Victoria Folk Night

Fort Tectoria is hosting Victoria Folk Night (formerly hosted at The Mint), where community members can get a taste of what local songwriters are up to.

This month’s edition features artists Ponygold, Semi Athletic and Oliver Swain!

Tickets are just over $20 and can be purchased via Eventbrite.

Community Days: Royal BC Museum

The Royal BC Museum is welcoming back its annual Community Days, running from Monday, January 6th to Sunday, January 12th.

During this special week, admission to the museum is by donation, giving you the chance to explore its diverse galleries and exhibitions for a price that fits your budget!

Not only are guests able to visit the museum’s core galleries—many of which having been refreshed and revamped, there’s also an exhibition showcasing 100 objects that capture the spirit of innovation and design in Canada called, Canadian Modern.

Obscura at Capital Ballroom

As described, Obscura invites you to “descend into the depths of sound” this friday with techno music.

Hosted at Capital Ballroom, featured artists will include DR BPM, GWAIMUI, RUNT and Midnight’s very own LEX in ‘THE CAGE.’

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

End Dive

If you’re looking for a moody and hipster atmosphere combined with sophisticated exposed brick and a backlit bar, End Dive is for you.

They feature a unique list of uniquely crafted cocktails as well as some delicious food menu items that have received wonderful reviews.
