One person was able to walk-away with minor injuries after rolling their vehicle in a single-vehicle crash this morning.
On Monday, December 30th, West Shore RCMP responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Millstream Lake Road in the Highlands. The crash, which occurred in the early hours, involved a single vehicle that left the road and overturned.
According to West Shore RCMP, the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
RCMP noted that poor weather conditions, including low visibility, and the road’s character contributed to the crash. Emergency crews worked at the scene, resulting in the temporary closure of Millstream Lake Road for about an hour.
West Shore RCMP have confirmed that speed, alcohol, and drugs were not factors in the crash.
As winter weather conditions continue to impact Vancouver Island, RCMP are reminding drivers to take extra precautions on the roads. They advise motorists to ensure their vehicles are equipped with proper winter tires, drive according to road and weather conditions, allow extra time for travel, and remain mindful of other road users.
Drivers are urged to stay safe and exercise caution, especially during the colder months when road conditions can change quickly.
