Missing 87-year-old Nanaimo man found deceased after just under a week of searching

Nanaimo RCMP say the 87-year old man who was reported missing on March 19th has been located deceased. 

Ivan Lambert disappeared on March 17th and was reported missing on March 19th. Police say he had last been seen driving away from his residence on Third Street. 

Lambert reportedly drove away from his residence in his grey Toyota Camry. 

Police say Lambert had some recent medical issues—given this and his advanced age. 

According to Nanaimo RCMP, the deceased and his vehicle were located on Saturday, March 23rd on a rural road south of Nanaimo. 

“Foul play is not suspected and the investigation is being led by the BC Coroners Service,” concluded Nanaimo RCMP.
