Another eatery has shut down in downtown Victoria, adding to a growing list of recent restaurant closures.
Pho Boi, a Vietnamese restaurant in the city’s core, announced on Instagram that it has permanently closed. In a post shared on September 11th, the owners thanked customers for their support and the memories created over the years.
“After much thought, we’ve decided to close our restaurant permanently,” the team wrote. “Your love and support have meant the world to us. This is not goodbye forever—just the end of this chapter.”
The restaurant’s last day of service was on September 14th. Pho Boi still operates a location in Nanaimo.

The closure follows a series of recent losses for Victoria’s downtown dining scene. Azuma Sushi, which had served locals and visitors since 2001, shut its doors in late August after efforts to sell the business fell through.
Around the same time, the popular plant-based restaurant Meet also closed its Victoria location.
Menbow Ramen Bar also shut down operations at its downtown Blanshard Street spot, with its final day on September 15th. The operators have encouraged customers to continue visiting their other locations at Mayfair and Hillside shopping centres.
