This one’s for the gamers.

The Big 1000, a large E-sport tournament, will be coming to Victoria on Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th at the Fernwood Community Centre.

Brady Chan, the event’s organizer, says he’s celebrating his 1,000th bracket hosted.

With many of these tournaments taking place in Victoria and across Vancouver Island, Chan says he is planning for this to be his biggest event yet.

Tournament games will include Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Smash 64, Super Smash Bros Melee, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive and Rivals of Aether 2.

With a regular tournament bracket and an amateur bracket, there is space for the hardcore gamers and the newcomers alike.

Anyone who can pick up a controller is encouraged to drop in and have some fun in this competitive environment.

Attendees are also invited to watch their friends compete or just hang out with other gamers at the event

In addition to the game tournaments, the function will also include artists and food vendors all weekend long.
