Thank goodness it’s Friday!

There’s so much to be excited for in Victoria this time of year!

The World Cup kicks off today, markets and block parties are in full swing and the RunSport Victoria Track Classic meet will pit the best athletes in the region against each other.

Whether you want to catch Team Canada play their first match, eat some donuts and run a mile for a good cause or get your booty on the dance floor, there’s bound to be something going on that will pique your interest.

Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite events!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Friday, June 12th:

The RunSport Victoria Track Classic at Centennial Stadium

Head down to Centennial Stadium at UVic for the annual RunSport Victoria Track Classic!

Catch some of the region’s top athletes compete at a meet that has proven to be a springboard to Olympic and Commonwealth competition for athletes in the area.

Kids can also take part in the action, with the Race Around the Track presented by Andrew Sheret Ltd.

Spectator tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. Tickets are free for kids 12 and under.

    • Race Around the Track 3:30 p.m. to 4:40 p.m.
    • Main event gates open at 4 p.m.

World Cup Watch Party at Brown’s Crafthouse Vic West

Brown’s Crafthouse in Vic West will be hosting a World Cup watch party!

Catch Team Canada take on Bosnia and Herzegovina at 12 p.m. for their first group stage match.

There’s high hopes for the Canadian team this year, and the atmosphere at Brown’s Crafthouse is going to be electric.

Make sure to make a reservation, as the bar will be packed for the team’s first game!

Siren Sound 2: Quest for Booty at the Downbeat

Get your dance on at the best venue in town for booty shakers at the Downbeat!

Siren Sound 2: Quest for Booty is a repeat of the all-ladies DJ cast at Downbeat, and they want to see your booty shaking on the dance floor.

Featuring Jennee Pleeze, Andrea Wolf, Selayne and Milf Maid, they’ll have you grooving all night long.

Tickets for the show are $10 advance and $15 at the door. Get yours here.

Summer of Soccer Kick-Off at Government Street

Celebrate the start of Summer of Soccer with a high-energy downtown kickoff timed to coincide with Canada’s first match.

This free event invites residents and visitors to explore downtown, connect with the community and get into the spirit of the game.

The event will feature DJ Benji and Friends, market vendors in Bastion Square, Pacific FC activations and a chill area hosted by BCLC, as well as a chance to win several prizes, including a $1,000 downtown shopping spree, soccer merchandise and a Vikes Soccer voucher of 4 tickets.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event and support Team Canada!

Vic Donut Mile at the Oak Bay Track

A high-energy, community-driven fundraiser in support of Buddy Check For Jesse, brought to you with the help of On and Frontrunners.

This is not your average race. The Donut Mile is equal parts fun, challenge, and chaos. Runners take on the track with a twist. Before each lap, you eat a donut.

Then you run. Repeat until it’s done.

Donuts are included with registration, and costumes are highly encouraged.

There will be prizes awarded for the best costume in each division, so bring creativity, bring energy and don’t hold back.

Whether you are chasing a win or just showing up for a great time, this event delivers. Expect a lively atmosphere, a supportive crowd and plenty of laughs along the way.

On will be on site with demo shoes available to try, including the Cloudmonster 3 and Cloudrunner 3, with more to come. We will also have additional activations and surprises throughout the event.

Donuts will be provided by Sidney Bakery and Fern Cafe & Bakery, subject to change. Limited vegan options will be available.
