Another market makes its return this summer in Victoria!
The Gorge Farmers Market will be opening its fifth season on Monday, June 15th, welcoming residents and visitors back to Gorge Park.
On their opening day, attendees can expect an afternoon of fresh local food, artisan products, live entertainment and community connection.
Continuing through the summer, the market will take place every Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. until September 7th, and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on September 14th and 21st to account for an earlier sunset.
Since launching in 2022, the market has grown into a community gathering place that supports local farmers, artisans and small businesses while providing residents with access to fresh, locally produced goods.
This season, the Gorge Farmers Market will feature more than 50 vendors.
With everything from seasonal produce, to baked goods, meats, seafood, preserves, beverages, prepared foods, handcrafted products and more, the market highlights the vibrancy of the local market scene here on the south island.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy live music every week, along with a selection of rotating food trucks.
This is the second market run by the Esquimalt Farmers Markets organization, with the other taking place on Thursdays at Memorial Park.
“This season feels especially meaningful as we celebrate our fifth year at Esquimalt Gorge Park,” said Melanie Langdon-Wilkins, executive director of the Esquimalt Farmers Markets.
“What began as a small neighbourhood market has become a thriving community hub where people can connect directly with local producers, support small businesses and enjoy one of the most beautiful waterfront park settings in the region.”
Festivities will kick off at 4:30 p.m. on opening day and run until 7:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to make sure they are able to explore the market before goods sell out.
