Here’s a list of Greater Victoria postal codes losing door-to-door mail delivery in 2027

Residents across Greater Victoria now have a better idea of whether their neighbourhood could be affected by Canada Post’s planned shift away from door-to-door mail delivery.

After announcing this week that Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt, Colwood, Langford, View Royal and Songhees Nation would be part of the next phase of community mailbox conversions, Canada Post has now released the postal codes slated for the transition in 2027.

The move is part of a nationwide plan that will see millions of remaining door-to-door delivery addresses converted to community mailboxes over the next five years.

While not every address within the affected municipalities will be included, Canada Post has identified dozens of postal code areas across Greater Victoria that are expected to make the switch.

Canada Post stresses that being listed within one of these postal code areas does not mean a community mailbox will appear overnight.

The Crown corporation says planning, consultations and site selection work will take place before any changes are implemented.

Residents will receive advance notice and information about proposed mailbox locations as the process moves forward.

The announcement follows Canada Post’s disclosure that it lost hundreds of millions of dollars in 2025, with additional losses continuing into 2026.

The corporation says the shift to community mailboxes is intended to help modernize operations and reduce delivery costs while continuing to handle growing parcel volumes.

For many residents, it means the familiar trip to the front mailbox could soon be replaced by a short walk down the street.

Canada Post says the conversions are expected to begin sometime in 2027, with exact timelines and neighbourhood-specific details to be announced closer to implementation.
