BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission are asking the public to weigh in on the future of transit service to Victoria International Airport.
An online survey opened today and will run until February 15th.
Feedback gathered through the survey will be used to help guide future planning and ensure transit service to the airport and surrounding communities reflects both current and future needs.

As part of the consultation, BC Transit will also host two open house events where residents can learn more about the proposed service changes and ask questions.
The open houses will take place:
- February 11th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sidney Save-On-Foods, 2345 Beacon Avenue
- February 12th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Uptown Walmart, 3460 Saanich Road
The consultation comes as concerns have been raised locally about how potential changes could impact existing transit users on the Saanich Peninsula.
At a Sidney council meeting on December 1st, 2025, Cliff McNeil-Smith spoke out against any reduction in local service tied to airport connectivity.
“I am deeply concerned with transit service reductions for our residents and workers,” McNeil-Smith said. “Improved airport connectivity is an important goal, but it should only be pursued as part of an overall increase in service, not by reducing service to local riders.”
He added that reducing Sidney transit service raises equity concerns and runs counter to the purpose of a regional transit system.
McNeil-Smith said he plans to advocate against approval of the proposed plan and encouraged residents and workers to share their perspectives during the consultation period.
