North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have arrested a second suspect in connection with an alleged kidnapping that took place in Duncan last week and was caught on video.
On February 25th, police apprehended a 34-year-old man with no fixed address in relation to the ongoing investigation.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, February 26th. Police have indicated that the incident is believed to be isolated and that there is no further risk to the public.
The arrest follows an incident on February 19th, when RCMP were alerted to a possible kidnapping near Queen’s Street in Duncan.

According to reports, video footage showed two men assaulting and forcibly placing a third man into a vehicle, prompting a swift response from authorities.
Later that day, officers conducting routine patrols located the suspect vehicle and arrested one man at the scene.
The vehicle was seized as evidence, and the victim was later found safe.
On February 20th, Jamie Peckett was charged with kidnapping, assault with a weapon, assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He remains in custody while awaiting his next court appearance.
With the arrest of the second suspect, police have now taken both individuals involved into custody. However, the investigation remains ongoing. RCMP continue to encourage anyone with information about the case to contact North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
