Once again, BC Transit will be allowing all cyclists to ride the bus for free during Go By Bike Week, from September 23rd to October 6th.
This is the 30th annual Go By Bike Week, which is organized by Capital Bike in the Greater Victoria region.
During this week, all commuters are encouraged to leave their vehicles at home and get themselves from point A to point B using active transportation.
Commuters who choose to ride their bikes instead of driving can log their trips via the Go By Bike website, and that will qualify them for a myriad of prizes.
Capital Bike will also be setting up ‘Celebration Stations’ throughout Greater Victoria which give away free swag and snacks.
Commuters who go out of their way to visit four of these Celebration Stations will be entered to win a brand new Marin bicycle worth around $1,000.
To qualify for free transit, BC Transit says commuters simply have to either use the bus bike racks, or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus.
All buses have racks on their front end and can accommodate two bikes at a time.
