One of our biggest stories this week began when someone showed Victoria Buzz founder Mike a portrait of Donald Trump displayed at the Sooke Fine Arts Show. The unusual painting was created using actual horse manure, and Mike knew instantly it would be a hit.
The Victoria Buzz article and social media posts went on to attract millions of views, leading news outlets across Canada and around the world to pick up the story.
You know you arenât exactly a fan favourite when a portrait of you painted with horse manure becomes international news.
Beyond the manure masterpiece, it was another busy week across Greater Victoria. Tonightâs Sunday Wrap-Up includes a fundraiser for a young Victoria father diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, three more local beaches deemed unsafe for swimming and the heartbreaking death of Victoria influencer Rebecca Luna after she publicly shared her journey with young-onset Alzheimerâs.
On the lighter side, Vancouver Island beaches earned some major national bragging rights, Victoriaâs âwaterfront secretâ was named one of Canadaâs coolest neighbourhoods and we have details on outdoor movies, a massive plant-based festival and a popular Canadian health-food chain coming to Victoria.
