Happy Monday, Victoria!

We hope you had a great weekend! Maybe you caught some sun or got some new literature from the Times Colonist book sale that will keep you busy for the next couple months?

The good times keep rolling in the city this Monday, with events from jazz orchestras to forest bathing.

Whether you’re hoping to impress your friends and win some prizes in trivia or get your craft on at Six Mile Pub, there’s plenty to keep you interested.

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Monday, May 4th:

Basie and Beyond with the Don Leppard Jazz Orchestra at the Coda

Head down to the Coda for some classy jazz tunes.

Founded by the late Don Leppard, The Don Leppard Jazz Orchestra is an 18‑piece jazz ensemble driven by a powerhouse rhythm section and inspired by the hard‑swinging big bands led by Count Basie and Buddy Rich.

They are dedicated to performing challenging music featuring great ensemble playing and exciting soloists.

SixtyWatt Trivia at Christie’s Carriage Pub

Head down to Christie’s for their weekly pub trivia in partnership with SixtyWatt Trivia!

These events are always a riot.

SixtyWatt is a Victoria-based trivia company that is known as the “Mr. Fix it” of quiet pub nights.

They specialize in sarcasm, banter and some pretty great one liners that you may in fact want to write home about.

With four fun rounds, each team has a chance to rake in the prizes.

Trivia is free to play, but SixtyWatt does ask that you support the venue and purchase some food or beverages.

Forest Bathing at Swan Lake

More than a walk in the woods, forest bathing is an opportunity to slow down, focus on our senses and re-connect with nature.

Join the Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary for a two hour forest walk through the Sanctuary, where guide Agnes will lead guests on a slow-paced, approximately 1 kilometre walk through Swan Lake’s trails.

Along the way Agnes will encourage guests to tune into their senses and connect with nature.

The walk will wrap up with some refreshments and tea.

Improv 101 Improv classes with Garden City Improv

Meet new people, learn and laugh in Improv 101!

Improv Foundations is the perfect class for the complete improv beginner or anyone who is looking to better themselves though the world of improv.

Second City veteran Kevin Matviw will teach you the basics of improv comedy through the use of hilarious games and exercises. No experience necessary!

This four-week class takes place on Mondays on May 4th to 25th.

Tickets for the class are $149 and can be purchased here.
