Happy mid-week, Victoria!

We hope you’ve recovered from a busy long weekend and are still in the mood to be out and about this Wednesday to experience what the city has to offer.

As usual, there’s a lovely mix of events happening around Victoria, including the drop-in writers group, a toque toss associated with the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser, and much more!

Without delay, here’s 5 things to do in and around Victoria on Wednesday, February 21st:

Coldest Night Toque Toss Fundraiser

Our Place Society and Victoria Royals Hockey Club are hosting a toque toss for their Coldest Night of the Year event and you’re invited!

It’s a family-friendly event and there will be photo opportunities with Victoria Royals players and Marty the Marmot, as well as raffles and giveaways.

If you fundraise $150 (adult) or $75 (child), you’ll receive this years special Coldest Night of the Year 2024 toque, handed out by The Victoria Royals!

If you haven’t registered for the walk yet, you can do so on the Facebook event page.

It’s Lit! Drop-In Writers Group

If you’re looking for a quiet and inspirational place to sit down and write, Small Gods Brewing in Sidney is the place for you!

Every Wednesday they host a drop-in writers group where people will come and work as well as enjoy a delicious beer.

There’s no drop-in fee or registration required—just show up with your creative cap on!

Trivia at Phoenix Bar and Grill

Looking for a fun quiz night?

The Phoenix Bar and Grill is hosting a Seinfeld themed evening of brain teasers—so, this is your chance to show off all of the show-related knowledge you’ve stored away.

Grab your pals and enjoy a refreshing beverage or two and something off of their menu!

Louise Rose at Hermann’s Jazz Club

You don’t want to miss pianist/vocalist Louise Rose as she takes the stage!

She is known as a Canadian treasure and jazz icon with her powerful lyrics and enthralling stage presence.

Rose has worked with a number of famous musicians, including Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington, Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, and B.B. King!

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online or in person.

Wednesday Night Jam

The Loft Pub invites you and your pals to come and check out their weekly musician jam night!

It’s hosted by Brooke Cooper and is drop-in, so it’s available to anyone hoping to bring their skills to the stage and practice or have fun.

Just make sure to bring your own microphones and instruments!
