Saanich to launch pilot reservation system for new Cordova Bay pickleball courts

Pickleball players from throughout the region who want to get a game together will soon have access to a new reservation system for the new Fowler Park courts.

The District of Saanich is piloting a reservation system for four of its six new pickleball courts at Fowler Park in Cordova Bay.

This endeavour is aimed at helping enthusiasts plan ahead and make the most of their court time.

The pilot pickleball portal will launch on Tuesday, September 15th, and run through Saturday, October 31st.

During this pilot period, prospective pickleball players will be able to reserve court time in one- or two-hour increments through Saanich RecOnline.

Players can book a court up to seven days in advance of the day of play.

The District has made it so four courts will be reservable, while two courts will remain as “first-come, first-served” for casual access.

Booking a court will come with a reservation fee of $10.50 per hour, tax included.

Following the pilot period, on November 1st, all courts revert to a first-come, first-served basis.
