Victoria’s donut scene is about to get a whole lot sweeter!
Lee’s Donuts, the iconic Vancouver bakery that has been serving handcrafted donuts for more than four decades, is officially expanding to Vancouver Island with its first-ever location in downtown Victoria.
The new location will open in the Broadview Block at the corner of Broad and View streets, directly across from the Bay Centre in the heart of downtown Victoria.
The announcement marks a major milestone for the family-founded bakery, which first opened inside the historic Granville Island Public Market in 1979.
Founded by Alan and Betty Lee, the shop built its reputation on making fresh, handmade donuts using traditional recipes, becoming a must-visit stop for locals and tourists.
Over the years, Lee’s Donuts has expanded throughout Metro Vancouver, but until now, fans on Vancouver Island have had to make the trip across the water to get their hands on the bakery’s famous honey dip donut.
While Lee’s Donuts is best known for its classic honey dip, the menu also features favourites including chocolate iced, maple iced, jelly-filled, cinnamon sugar, cake donuts and a rotating selection of seasonal creations.
The company continues to make its donuts fresh daily using its original recipes developed in 1979.
An official opening date for the Victoria location has not yet been announced.

For donut lovers on Vancouver Island, though, the wait for one of BC’s most recognizable bakeries is finally coming to an end.
