Share

This week, the District of Saanich’s contractor will be undertaking a critical installation for the cell tower at the peak of PKOLS.

From Monday, June 8th to Friday, June 12th the PKOLS parking lot at the base of Churchill Drive will be closed in an effort to ensure public safety.

According to the District, the public will not be given access to Churchill Drive and are being asked to exercise caution around the park as large equipment is to be transported from the base to the summit.

It was also noted that there may be intermittent trail closures at the summit.

“The parking lot may reopen sooner if work is complete earlier than anticipated,” said the District in a media release.

“The parking lot gate is anticipated to remain closed until the end of June as this stage of work is finalized.”

The District will be monitoring the work area to ensure safety while the work is in progress.

The replacement telecommunications tower project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
