VicPD Major Crime Unit detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in an investigation into a string of arsons that have taken place in Victoria’s downtown core.

Police are specifically seeking dashcam footage that may have been captured in the 1200 block of Johnson Street between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. on April 20th.

Investigators say they would also like to speak with anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the identified area during this time.

“Any footage captured on vehicle-mounted dashcams and any witness observations during this timeframe could be vital to the investigation,” said VicPD in a media release.

Police did not specify how many suspected arsons occurred in relation to this investigation. No further details have been shared at this time.

Anyone who may have information or video footage is urged to call the E-Comm non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654, referencing file number 26-15623.
