The good news keeps coming for the pickleball enthusiasts out there!

The Sooke Pickleball Club will be hosting the second annual Sooke Paddle Battle on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th at the SEAPARC Recreation Centre.

The tournament will bring together over 250 players to celebrate competition, community and one of Canada’s fastest-growing sports.

Participants will range from 12 to 79-years-old, and the tournament will include all skill levels, from emerging to highly-competitive players in divisions from beginner to advanced.

Action begins at 8 a.m. each day with men’s and women’s doubles on Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday.

“This event highlights everything that makes Sooke special—community connection, active living and a welcoming spirit for all ages,” organizers said.

“We are proud to see the tournament continue to grow and bring people together through sport.”

Organizers also say the atmosphere at the event will be vibrant and welcoming for spectators and players alike. Admission to the tournament is free for spectators.

The event is home-grown, being put on by Sooke-based business Court Crushers, who are responsible for many of the pickleball events taking place in and around the Greater Victoria area.
