VicPD are seeking information on a door hinge believed to have been stolen from a downtown church.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, located at 924 Douglas Street, believes that the hinge was stolen sometime between Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th.

Police say that two metal hinge straps were unscrewed and removed from the doors of the church. One has since been recovered.

According to the church, the outstanding metal strap is a heritage item believed to be dating back to 1889 when the church was built.

“It will be challenging to replace,” said VicPD in a media release.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating this item. If located please contact VicPD at (250) 995-7654, citing file number 26-26613.
