Man arrested in Comox for allegedly pointing laser at military aircraft

Comox Valley RCMP has arrested an individual for allegedly pointing a laser at a military aircraft last week.

On April 23rd at approximately 9:45 a.m., Comox Valley RCMP say they received a call from 19 Wing Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) that one of their military aircrafts was allegedly targeted with a laser.

Police attended the scene and located a 38-year-old suspect who was arrested without incident.

He was subsequently released on an undertaking, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence, and a detailed report to Crown Counsel will be made with consideration of appropriate charges.

No further details about this incident can be released while the investigation continues.
