Suspect arrested following bank robbery at Tillicum Mall TD branch

A suspect is in custody following a bank robbery at the TD Canada Trust branch at Tillicum Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Saanich Police, officers were called around 1:45 p.m. to a bank in the 300 block of Burnside Road West after a robbery was reported.

Police say the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and handed over a note demanding money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers tracked the suspect to a building in the 3600 block of Tillicum Road, where they were located and arrested shortly after 2:15 p.m.

The suspect remains in custody.

Saanich Police’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

Victim Services has also been engaged to support bank employees affected by the incident.
