We already know how wonderful it is to live in Victoria, and we just got some validation for that feeling!

Victoria was named one of the top 50 cities in the world for generation Zers to move to on a list recently released by Remitly.

The company placed Victoria at number 49, just beating Gothenburg, Sweden at number 50.

“Your 20s are a genuinely great time to take a leap,” the article stated.

“Whether you’re eyeing a fresh start after university or college, chasing a job opportunity abroad, or just ready to live somewhere different. Moving to a new city (or a new country entirely) can be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make.”

The creators of the list analyzed over 250 cities globally, and focused on factors important to those aged 20 to 29.

These factors included rent affordability, safety index, quality of life index, average monthly net salary as well as youth unemployment rate and the affordability of a night out.

Number one on the list was Copenhagen, Denmark.

Other Canadian cities to make the cut were Calgary at 21, Halifax at 22, Montreal at 28, Edmonton at 35, Toronto at 39 and Vancouver at 43.

Ottawa made the list’s top 10 coming in as the eighth best.
