A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a homicide investigation in Saanich.
Around 5 a.m. on September 9th, Saanich Police responded to a call for a well-being check at a home in the 4000-block of Hayden Court.
Upon arrival, officers found a deceased adult male inside the house.
Because of the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) took over the case.
Police stated that a second man was taken into custody the same day and has now been formally charged with second-degree murder.
Investigators confirmed that the victim and the accused were acquaintances and assured that there is no ongoing risk to the public.
The victim’s family has been informed, and police expressed their condolences to his loved ones and friends.
