Heads up motorist travelling southbound on the Pat Bay Highway.

Traffic along the Pat Bay Highway has been slow-going since mid-Thursday morning after a truck went off the shoulder in the southbound lanes just before Mount Newtown Cross Road.

Details about the crash remain unclear, but photos from the scene show the truck tipped over into the ditch.

Several tow trucks are on site, and crews are currently working to remove stock from the vehicle before attempting to pull it back upright.

Live highway cameras from DriveBC show minimal impact at the moment, though delays are expected to worsen later in the day as ferry traffic picks up and schools let out.

More to come.
