West Shore RCMP have announced that an investigation has been launched into a series of incidents in which pedestrians and one residence were shot at with BB guns in Langford.
Police say the incidents all took place on the evening of August 28th between 9:40 p.m. and 10:44 p.m.
In total, four separate reports were made to police regarding this matter:
- 9:40 p.m. – Alouette Drive/Glen Lake Road: A male victim reported being struck by a BB round while walking. Police say the shot came from a passing vehicle carrying four male youths;
- 10 p.m. – 2100 block Bellamy Road: A residence was struck by a BB round. A witness saw a black SUV leaving the area immediately afterward;
- 10:04 p.m. – 800 block Brock Avenue: A female victim reported being hit by a BB round fired from a black SUV, which was last seen heading westbound on Brock Avenue;
- 10:44 p.m. – 800 block Brock Ave: A separate male victim was struck by a BB round fired from a black SUV.
West Shore RCMP say that patrols were conducted in the area following these four reports, and have since located and seized the black SUV.
However, the suspects remain unidentified.
The suspects are described as three to four youths who are believed to be male. The black SUV they were driving was a 2009 Ford Escape.
Police are calling on residents in the affected areas to review their home surveillance between 9:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. on August 28th, as video may have captured the suspects or vehicle.
