Here’s what to expect this weekend as hundreds of Deuces roll into Victoria today

The roar of vintage engines is about to echo through downtown Victoria.

While Northwest Deuce Days officially runs from July 17th to 20th, the action begins today as dozens of classic 1932 Fords make their way off the MV Coho ferry around 2:15 p.m.—marking the unofficial start of one of the city’s most anticipated automotive events.

Locals who’ve experienced it before know exactly where to be.

Crowds typically gather along Belleville Street to catch an early glimpse of the Deuces arriving from Port Angeles, Washington, in what feels like a spontaneous parade through the heart of the capital.

More than 1,000 classic vehicles are expected to take part this year, with the Inner Harbour turning into a sea of polished chrome by Sunday.

Drivers should be aware that Belleville Street will see intermittent closures between Menzies and Oswego streets throughout the day Thursday to accommodate the incoming show cars and their fanfare.

The festivities pick up for participants on Friday, followed by a busy Saturday that begins with staging along Dallas Road at 7 a.m. and a scenic Poker Run at 9 a.m. sending Deuces cruising across the region.

Sunday is the main event, with hundreds of cars on display throughout downtown Victoria.

Parking for participants begins as early as 4:30 a.m., and cars will begin heading out at 3:30 p.m. after a full day of admiration from spectators.

The weekend wraps up with the Northwest Deuce Days awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on the BC Legislature lawn.

So if you’re near the Inner Harbour today, keep your eyes peeled, those unmistakable hot rods are about to roll into town.
