Two people were arrested following a traffic stop in Langford last week.
On June 5th, two men were arrested during a targeted traffic stop conducted by the West Shore RCMP Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.
The stop occurred near the intersection of Sooke Road and Jacklin Road in Langford. The vehicle in question was displaying an inactive license plate that did not match the description of the car.
West Shore RCMP officers initiated a stop and, after further investigation, suspected that the occupants were involved in drug trafficking.
A search of the vehicle and the suspects led to the seizure of significant quantities of illicit substances.
Police recovered approximately 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, around three grams of suspected cocaine, three grams of suspected crack cocaine, and fivegrams of suspected methamphetamine. They also found several unknown pills and about seven grams of an unidentified powder.
In addition to the drugs, officers seized other items commonly associated with drug trafficking, including bear spray, a collapsible baton, a machete, a folding knife, and a stolen license plate.
The two men, both in their 40s, were arrested on drug trafficking charges and were later released on Undertakings while the investigation continues.
