This year will see the 15th rendition of Rifflandia take over Victoria with a special celebration of music, food, comedy and more.
As the festival has grown considerably since its first rendition back in 2008, this year, Rifflandia is creating a new endeavour to give back to the community.
Beginning May 2nd, the day tickets go on sale for Rifflandia 2025, 15% of all ticket sales will go straight to the newly established Rifflandia Foundation.
The Foundation will then distribute the money raised to 15 local community organizations who make an impact on all facets of life in Victoria.
Additionally, those purchasing tickets will have the chance to select which community organization their 15% will go to by using a promo code at checkout that is unique to the organization.
The organizations Rifflandia has chosen as their 15 partners in this endeavour are:
- DVBA Clean Team
- KidSport Greater Victoria
- Peers
- Reciprocity Trusts
- Surfrider Foundation South Vancouver Island
- UVic Vikes Athletics
- Victoria Children’s Choir
- Victoria Conservatory of Music
- Victoria Cool Aid Society
- Victoria Hospitals Foundation
- Victoria Orange Shirt Day
- Victoria Pride Society
- Women In Need (WIN) Community Cooperative
- Participating Greater Victoria School PACs
- Participating Victoria and Saanich Community Associations
Each organization’s unique code can be found online at Rifflandia’s ‘give where you riff’ webpage.
In addition to distributing the funds raised from ticket sales to their 15 partners, Rifflandia says their new non-profit will be dedicated to increasing equity and access to sports, live events, and cultural activities for individuals and communities facing social, economic, and physical barriers.
“We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the transformative power of shared experiences,” said a Rifflandia spokesperson in a media release.
“Through strategic partnerships, targeted programs, and inclusive initiatives, Rifflandia Foundation aims to break down barriers, foster diversity, and create meaningful opportunities for all to engage in the cultural and recreational moments that inspire connection, joy, and growth.”
This year’s festival will take place between Thursday, September 11th and Sunday, September 14th at the Matullia Lands in Rock Bay.
Rifflandia 2025’s lineup will be announced on Wednesday, May 7th.
