Saanich Police have closed the intersection of Ash Road and Tyndall Avenue as they respond to an ongoing incident in the area Wednesday afternoon.
Traffic is being diverted, and police are asking the public to avoid the area until further notice.
A witness near the Shelbourne Street and McKenzie Avenue intersection reported seeing a major police response.
“No less than a dozen police cruisers and unmarked vehicles, plus what looked like a SWAT van, blew through the intersection in the space of a few minutes,” the witness said.
Reports on social media suggest police have a BC Transit bus surrounded.
