Snowy conditions across Greater Victoria have led to several school cancellations Tuesday morning, following fresh flurries overnight on Monday.
While most schools do appear to be closed today, students and parents are advised to follow updates on their school district’s website as the morning progresses.
The following schools and districts will be closed on February 4 due to inclement weather:
- The Greater Victoria School District has confirmed all schools will be closed today
- Saanich School District 63 says all schools are closed today after last night’s heavy snowfall left many side roads unsafe for buses and pedestrians. Municipal and school district crews are working to clear the roads
- Cowichan Valley School District (SD79)
- UVic has confirmed that campus will be closed today
- Camosun’s campuses will be closed today
- Royal Roads University is closed, courses and residencies will proceed online
- St. Michaels University School closed
- St. Margaret’s School closed
- Glenlyon Norfolk School closed
- Vancouver Island University closed
- North Island College closed
The following schools and districts will be open on February 4:
- Sooke School District 62 will remain open on February 4th following an early assessment of road conditions. Parents may choose to keep their children home and should follow standard absence procedures if they do. All bus routes will operate as usual, except routes 2, 51 and 60.
