Pedestrian in critical condition after vehicle collision in Comox Valley: RCMP

A pedestrian was transported to hospital in critical condition after an early morning collision in Comox on Tuesday. 

At around 6:30 a.m. on January 21st, Comox Valley RCMP received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on Highway 19a on Smith Road. 

Police arrived on scene shortly after the incident was reported, and emergency services took over first aid upon arrival.

The driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

According to police, the driver, alongside a witness, provided potentially life-saving first aid to the victim before police arrived.

The pedestrian remains in the hospital in critical condition.
