RCMP seize large stash of drugs and firearms after executing search warrant in Campbell River

Campbell River RCMP seized a large stash of illicit drugs and firearms after executing a search warrant last week.

On Friday, September 6th, police and crime units executed a search warrant on a location in the 900 block of Island Highway South, as a part of a drug trafficking investigation.

As a result of the search, over 100 grams of fentanyl, over 70 grams of powder cocaine, over 40 grams of crack cocaine, and a significant amount of Dilaudid (Hydromorphone pills) were seized.

Additionally, officers located and seized a large sum of cash, firearms, replica handguns and other assorted weapons, including a prohibited conducted energy weapon and a switchblade.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman on scene, both from Campbell River, who were released with a future court date.

Campbell River RCMP intends to forward a detailed report to Crown Counsel for consideration of Criminal and Controlled Drug and Substance Act charges.
