Following Saturday night’s epic lightning and thunderstorm, Victorian’s may get another light show this week.
As of this publication, the forecast in Victoria is calling for showers throughout the day and night on Monday, August 19th, with Tuesday bringing a 60% chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm during the afternoon.
Environment Canada says high temperatures through the week will range between 21°C and 17°C with possible showers up until Thursday, when the forecast shifts to cloudiness.
Overnight lows are predicted to be steadily around 13°C through every evening this week.

Duncan and Nanaimo have a similar forecast for the week with Environment Canada also predicting a thunderstorm during the afternoon on Tuesday.
However on Wednesday, Duncan, Nanaimo and surrounding municipalities can expect a reprieve from the rain, cloud and possible thunderstorm with a sunny day forecasted to be around 23°C.
Environment Canada is also calling for a possible thunderstorm to take place in Tofino, Port Alberni, Courtenay and Comox on Tuesday.

Up-island, Port Hardy and surrounding municipalities are not predicted to be impacted by a thunderstorm, but they will experience rain, cloud and colder temperatures through the week.
The recent rains have aided wildfire-fighting efforts on Vancouver Island specifically, however lightning from thunderstorms can cause wildfires to be ignited naturally.
Currently, there are only three wildfires active on the island—two of which have been deemed ‘under control’ by the BC Wildfire Service, and one listed as ‘being held’.
The one that’s being held is the latest to have been discovered, and it is thought to have been started from a lightning strike during the storms this weekend.
On Vancouver Island, lightning is less frequent than other regions of BC, with thunderstorms being a prolific starter of fires in the interior and northern regions of the province.
