This year’s annual Pride Parade takes place this Sunday, July 7th and VicPD will be blocking off several major downtown Victoria corridors for the duration of the event.
The parade is set to take place on Douglas Street, make its way through downtown and eventually end up in James Bay.
Police say these road closures begin in the marshalling area, between Chatham and Fisgard Streets at approximately 7 a.m.
Following that the closures will continue along the parade route just after 10 a.m. and are expected to last until approximately 1:30 p.m.

VicPD say that officers and volunteers will be on site along the route to mitigate traffic disruptions through the duration of the parade.
The parade ends at McDonald Park in James Bay where festivities are scheduled to continue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
More information on what will take place there is available via Victoria Pride Society’s website.
VicPD officers and staff will also be walking in the Pride Parade and will not be in uniform.
Throughout the parade, police say they will be deploying temporary CCTV in an effort to “keep Pride Parade participants safe and assist in maintaining traffic flow.”
The cameras will be taken down once the parade has concluded.
