Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the eastern portion of Vancouver Island and the Strait of Georgia.

According to the weather agency, a frontal system crossing the south coast will bring strong winds to the Strait of Georgia early this morning. Southeast winds of 70 km/h gusting to 90 will ease later as the front passes.

Winds will ease as the day moves along.

Despite the gloomy weather forecast for today, things are expected to take a turn for the better as the week progresses. Temperatures are expected to rise, and by Friday, we can look forward to sunny skies and a high of 24°C.
