Impaired woman arrested after being found unconscious in stolen car: West Shore RCMP

A 29-year-old woman is facing charges after being found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a stolen vehicle in Langford on Tuesday afternoon.

On May 21st, at approximately 3:08 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a woman appearing unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car parked near the 2800 block of West Shore Parkway.

Upon arrival, officers discovered drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the 2001 Toyota Corolla had been reported stolen from Victoria on May 4th.

The woman was woken and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of stolen property, as both the vehicle and the attached licence plate were confirmed stolen.

Additionally, the suspect received violation tickets for driving without a licence and without insurance.

She was also issued a 24-hour driving prohibition for displaying symptoms of drug impairment while in control of the vehicle.

She was later released from custody with a notice to appear in court.
