Guests at a fashion show event taking place at the Scottish Community Centre in View Royal Saturday night were shocked to see flames outside the facility Saturday night.
Located at the corner of Craigflower and Admiral roads, View Royal Fire Rescue was called to a report of a fire at a small wooden structure around 8:30 p.m., near the backside of the parking lot, next to the Gorge Waterway—which is believed to be the Replica Blacksmith Shop.
Several witnesses told Victoria Buzz they quickly rushed to move their vehicles away from the flames, which also made it more difficult for firefighters as attendees were leaving while crews were arriving.
Langford and Colwood Fire Rescue sent crews to offer assistance in battling the blaze.
The fire was under control within a couple minutes of fire crews arriving, however, there were concerns for nearby trees an other nearby materials stored near the building.
Photos posted the following day on social media show the building completely destroyed.
There were no injuries, and the building was non-heritage.
