Pop-up shop replaces Lands End Café at Swartz Bay terminal during ‘major’ renovation

The Swartz Bay ferry terminal is getting a bit of a makeover this month.

Land’s End Café has been slinging coffee to sleepy-eyed travellers for years, and this March the café will be getting a “major renovation and transformation.”

BC Ferries announced on Monday, March 6th that they want to turn the café into a modern coffee bar with a more contemporary menu more consistent with the food and drinks served onboard their ‘Spirit Class’ vessels’ Arbutus Coffee Bars.

“It will remain named ‘Lands End Café’ when it reopens,” said Dan McIntosh, Manager of Communications for BC Ferries.

“The renovation will take about three months and during that time a pop-up cafe will operate out of the Lands End building serving beverages, sandwiches, salads, and snacks to customers.”

This pop-up café will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. for travellers convenience.

“Washrooms will remain open to the public throughout the renovation, and indoor seating will also be available,” McIntosh told Victoria Buzz.

BC Ferries expects Lands End Café at Swartz Bay terminal to reopen in late spring or summer of 2023.
