Fire crews were called in to help rescue a man — who was experiencing a medical emergency — from atop a tower crane early Wednesday morning.
Langford fire says that they were called to the crane just before 8 a.m. this morning after an ambulance was called to treat the crane operator.
The operator was experiencing a medical emergency that required an ambulance, and once paramedics arrived, they called for Langford Fire for assistance.
“Given the nature of the rescue and the position of the patient, they called for Langford Rescue,” Langford Fire Assistant Chief Scott Davidson told Victoria Buzz.
Then, to reach the crane operator, an articulating platform from Colwood Fire was brought in to help with the operation.
Langford Fire said that they are unable to comment on the crane operator’s condition, but that he appeared to be conscious when being delivered to paramedics.
