Share

The Township of Esquimalt has released an advisory for motorists after a water main burst on Transfer Street on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Township, the burst was caused by an unexpected pipe failure. City of Victoria crews are now on site and performing repairs.

The burst has caused Transfer Street to be closed until approximately 8 p.m., with detours in effect.

Transfer Street is a short, but busy road that connects motorists on Tillicum Road to Lampson Street.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays in the Tillicum/Colville area due to the closure.

Transit riders may be impacted by the burst as well, and can check the BC Transit website or app for any updated travel information.
