There’s no better backdrop for a celebration of culture and community than Victoria’s Ship Point in the Inner Harbour.
The Soul of Vietnam Festival will return to the Inner Harbour on Sunday, August 16th.
The free festival promises a full day of culture, community, food, fashion, and entertainment to Ship Point.
Everyone is invited to experience the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture at the city’s favourite waterfront setting.
One highlight of the festival is the Runway on the Waterfront, a unique fashion showcase featuring collections from both local and Vietnamese designers
Attendees will be able to experience traditional and contemporary designs that celebrate Vietnamese heritage while highlighting creativity across communities.
Designer Tran Thien Khanh will be one of the designers featured at the festival, whose designs blend traditional Vietnamese heritage with modern colours, luxurious fabrics, and refined craftsmanship, creating styles that are both timeless and contemporary.
“Victoria may be a small city, but it has a warm, welcoming spirit and a genuine love for Vietnamese culture,” said Khanh.
“I truly appreciate programs that help spread the image, identity, and spirit of Vietnam to both
the Vietnamese community and international friends.”
Another highlight of the festival will be a special performance from Vietnamese folk opera,offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience one of Vietnam’s most treasured performing arts traditions.
With expressive performances, detailed costumes, and symbolic movements, the organizers say the opera will reflect themes of loyalty, courage and honour, preserving cultural stories and spirits across generations.
Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy live cultural performances, interactive exhibits, authentic Vietnamese cuisine, and family-friendly activities.
The festival is slated to be a fun event for the whole family, with a kids zone, more than 40 vendors and food trucks, and an exciting lineup of performances from a variety of talented musicians, actors, and entertainers.
