It’s a great time to get informed ahead of the upcoming municipal election, with a meet the candidates event at the Atrium where attendees can chat with candidates and ask questions that matter to them.

If you’ve already done your election homework, there’s plenty going on to keep you busy.

From a roast battle at The Mint to a Magic the Gathering night at Pinhalla, the city is alive and vibrant this Thursday.

All Candidates Meet & Greet at The Atrium

Get informed before the municipal election!

Join the Victoria Downtown Residents Association for a chance to mix and mingle with candidates for Victoria City Council and chat with them about issues that matter to you.

The candidates whose participation has been confirmed are Jeremy Caradonna, Matt Dell, Shona Dion, Marg Gardiner, Peter Rose Gibbs, Martin Girard, Stephen Hammond, Christopher Hanna, James Harasymow, Susan Kim, Bella Lee, Krista Loughton, Arthur McInnis, Jack Sandor and Dave Thompson.

Jerry Garcia will no longer be able to attend.

This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Comedy Roast Battle at The Mint

Comedian Mackenzie Edwards hosts this show of insult comedy, jabs and rebuttals at The Mint Victoria!

The main event will feature Sarah Carol versus Quincy Thomas, with judges Zach Lewis, Shane Priesley and Jeff Corntassel.

Ten Comedians, some friends, some barely known to each other, insult and verbally try to ruin their opponent in this joke-fest of insult comedy. You might not know some of them, but they will make you laugh!

The judges weigh in on their opinion of the battles and pick who won each battle.

The event will also feature Willem Roelants versus Darren Millar, Kurtis Beaulieu versus Eoin Carver, Chrystal Mighties versus Dan Scum and Sam Matthews versus Meg Vukelic.

Art & Sole fundraising event for Art Gallery of Greater Victoria at John Fluevog Shoes

Head to Art & Sole, a Fluevog fundraising and purchasing event in support of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (AGGV)!

For one evening only, 50% of the full retail price of footwear and accessories purchased will be generously donated to the AGGV.

On the night of the event, mingle with the AGGV staff, members, associates and fellow Fluevogers!

Only purchases made between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. count toward the fundraiser.

If you can’t make it to the store for the event, you can place your pre-viewed order by phone at (250) 590-1970 at the time of the event and stop in whenever it is convenient for you to take your artsy new shoes home!

Magichalla: Magic the Gathering Showdown at Pinhalla

Calling all Magic players…your time in the spotlight has arrived!

All those years of collecting and spellslinging is finally going to pay off at Pinhalla’s inaugural Magichalla event!

Head down to Pinhalla  for an evening of Magic with themed specials and door prizes up for grabs.

This is a free event and all are welcome.
