Two people were arrested and roughly three kilograms of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine were seized following a drug trafficking investigation in Saanich earlier this month.

According to Saanich Police, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 400 block of Dupplin Road on May 15th with support from the Street Crime Unit, Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, Integrated Canine Service and Forensic Identification Section.

Police said a second warrant was also executed at a storage locker connected to the investigation.

The investigation stemmed from what police described as extensive proactive policing efforts in the midtown area by patrol officers and the Street Crime Unit.

During the searches, officers seized approximately three kilograms of drugs believed to be fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, along with 10 litres of GHB.

Police estimate the street value of the drugs at around $55,000.

Investigators also recovered what they described as a significant amount of stolen property, including heat pumps, air conditioners, generators and lawn mowers valued at approximately $25,000.

Police said the rightful owner of the stolen items has been identified and the property will be returned.

Two individuals were arrested at the time and later released.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing and officers expect to recommend several drug trafficking-related charges to Crown counsel.
