Fundraiser launched to help family of missing woman last seen in rural Comox

An online fundraiser campaign has been launched to help provide aid to the family of a missing woman in the Comox area.

Additionally, some funds raised will be made available as a reward for any new information that may bring new information on her whereabouts to the authorities.

According to Comox Valley RCMP, 40-year-old Ashley Bosma disappeared on October 14th, and was subsequently reported missing on October 16th.

Bosma was camping in a rural area of Comox Lake for a few days before her disappearance and last spoke with her mother, Sandy, the same day she went missing.

Now, with nearly a month passing since her disappearance, Bosma’s family and friends are hoping a reward could provide incentive for new information to come to police.

“We believe that offering a reward could help encourage new information to come forward and bring us closer to finding Ashley,” said Natacha Drysdale, organizer of the GoFundMe campaign.

“Additionally, Ashley’s family does not live in the Comox area, and the costs of travel, accommodation, and ongoing search efforts have quickly added up.”

Drysdale is asking for help on behalf of the family, and says that any amount helps.

All funds raised will go directly toward the search efforts and reward fund to help bring Bosma home.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your help in keeping hope alive for Ashley and her family,” Drysdale concluded.

As of this publication, the fundraiser has garnered $4,240 of its $5,000 goal.

Bosma is described as 5’4” tall, weighing approximately 115 lbs, with blue eyes and hair dyed brownish purple and blonde. She was last seen wearing pink leggings and a grey sweater.

Anyone with information about Ashley Bosma’s whereabouts is urged to contact Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 and reference file 2025-15816.
