If you’re looking for a reason to head up Island this summer, this might just be it.

Campbell River is gearing up to host the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks parachute team next month, and their high-flying performance promises to be one for the books.

The SkyHawks will descend into Willow Point Park on Monday, July 14th, with the show starting at 12:30 p.m. Spectators can expect a dramatic aerial display featuring skillful formations and precision parachuting by Canada’s only military parachute demonstration team.

The team is made up of 13 serving members from the Canadian Army, Navy, and Air Force—representing both Regular and Reserve Forces—along with a four-person ground crew that includes a narrator, imagery technician, admin officer, and drop zone controller.

“The SkyHawks’ thrilling performance will include daring manoeuvres and requires a high level of skill, teamwork and physical fitness. The whole community is invited to watch a spectacular show, and the team will be available to chat, sign autographs, take photos and share information about their parachutes and gear,” according to the City of Campbell River.

The free event is part of the City’s summer recreation programming and will take place on Fields 4 and 5 at Willow Point Park, located at 1800 Alder Street South.

But that’s not the only aerial excitement happening on Vancouver Island this summer.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will also be flying over Vancouver Island, with Victoria added to their 2025 schedule. While it won’t be a full aerobatic show, the team will perform a stunning non-aerobatic flyover of the capital city on Tuesday, July 22nd—complete with their iconic nine-jet formation.

Originally scheduled for a single show in Nanaimo back in May, the Snowbirds have since rescheduled that performance for August 15th and 16th.

Earlier this month, Victoria was added to the Canadian Forces Snowbirds’ 2025 schedule, with the iconic aerobatics team set to soar over the city this summer.

The flyover is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22nd, and while it won’t be a full aerobatic airshow, the team promises a stunning non-aerobatic display featuring their trademark nine-jet formation.

More details, including exact timing and routes, are expected closer to the date. In the meantime, locals are encouraged to grab their cameras and keep an eye on the Canadian Forces Snowbirds’ Facebook page for updates.

Between parachutes and jet trails, this summer is shaping up to be a sky-gazing dream across Vancouver Island.
