The longtime downtown Victoria restaurant is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary, and rather than waiting for the big milestone, it’s kicking things off early with a limited-time four-course dinner for just $59 per person.
And that’s not the only thing on the menu. There’s a lot packed into that $59 price tag, starting with the four-course dinner.
Available Sunday through Thursday starting at 4 p.m., the special pre-30th anniversary menu lets guests choose a soup, salad, entrée and dessert.
To start, there’s lobster bisque, French onion soup or clam chowder, followed by a Caesar or green salad.
Then comes the hard part… picking the main course.
Seafood lovers can go for the spicy seafood jambalaya, loaded with prawns, scallops, mussels and chorizo sausage, or the Salmon Wellington, served with creamy mashed potatoes and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.
More of a steak person? There’s a six-ounce New York striploin with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables.
The menu also includes prosciutto chicken parmigiana served with tagliatelle pasta, along with a braised lamb shank for anyone craving something a little heartier.
And because there’s always room for dessert (or at least we like to think so), guests can finish things off with a mini chocolate torte or mini key lime pie.
You can even add garlic prawns or lobster tail for an additional charge, and there’s $10 off any bottle of wine to go along with your dinner.
Not a bad way to spend an evening downtown!
And happy hour? Yes, please.
If you’re not quite ready to commit to a four-course feast, Nautical Nellies has also rolled out a new Happy Hour menu.
Running daily from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., it’s a great excuse to sneak out for an early bite, meet up with friends after work or enjoy a drink before dinner.
Small plates start at just $9, with everything from truffle parmesan fries and crispy calamari to crab cakes and lobster and shrimp quesadillas.
There are also options like steak mac and cheese, spicy tuna oshi and hot lobster shrimp dip.
As for drinks, select beer, wine and highballs start at $7, with non-alcoholic options available too.
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick snack or making an afternoon of it, there’s plenty to choose from.
And did we mention the $2 oysters? Because this one deserves its own mention.
If you’re an oyster fan, Nautical Nellies is offering $2 Buck Shuck oysters during happy hour, Monday through Thursday. Yes, two dollars each!
The deal is available from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a minimum order of six and a maximum of twelve oysters per order, alongside the purchase of any beverage.
So if you’ve been looking for an excuse to round up a few friends for oysters and drinks, consider this your sign.
Nautical Nellies has been part of Victoria’s restaurant scene for nearly three decades, and its upcoming 30th anniversary is a pretty good reason to celebrate.
